Help
Answers to the questions people ask most about making, sharing and keeping apps with WishWhip. If yours isn't here, email help@wishwhip.app and a person will answer.
What can I ask for?
One small app, described in a sentence or two. A habit tracker, a chore list, a tip splitter, a quiz or a countdown are all good fits.
If something you asked for won't fit, its page says so under “Not in this version” before it's built.
Apps can't yet sign people in with accounts, keep one list that several people change together, or take payments. They can't send emails or texts either.
We don't make apps that break our Acceptable use rules.
How long does it take?
Planning, building and checking usually take 15–45 minutes together. Its page shows which stage it's in.
You can close the tab. We'll email you when it's built.
When you're happy with it, choose “Go live”. An automatic check runs first, and then it gets its own link.
What does it cost?
Free costs nothing. You get one app, yours to keep, 1 live app, and 100 credits a month for building and changes.
Maker is $12 a month. It gives 600 credits a month, with up to 10 live apps at once.
Studio is $29 a month. It gives 1,500 credits a month, with up to 30 live apps at once, and 2 can build at the same time.
A new app usually uses about 20 credits, and a change about 10. Bigger apps use more. Each new app and each change uses only what it needs from this month's credits, which reset on the 1st. On a paid plan you can add credits: $3 for 100, from 200.
Where does what people add to my app go?
It stays on their own device, in their browser. We don't see it, and neither do you.
Something leaves their device only when they use a feature that says so. Moving their data to another device is one. It is locked with a one-time code, and we delete it once the other device has it.
If an app has an AI feature, what they type goes to an AI model to get the answer. We don't keep those messages.
We count how often an app is opened, without cookies and without knowing who opened it.
Do the people I share it with need an account?
No. They open the link and use it. They don't sign up, and they don't need WishWhip.
You need an account to make apps. We're letting people in a few at a time for now.
Can I change it later?
Yes. Use “Change something” on its page and describe the change. People keep using the current version until the change goes live.
Each change uses credits from this month, like a new app.
Every version is kept. You can bring back an earlier one at the same link.
Can I have the code?
Yes. The apps made for you are yours. Choose “Download the code” on an app's page at any time.
You can still download it after you delete the app. Some of the code comes from open source libraries, and their own licenses still apply.
What happens when I stop paying?
You can cancel any time from Settings. Your plan carries on to the end of the month you paid for, and then you're on Free.
Free allows 1 live app. If you have more, the newest ones are paused. People who open them see a short page saying so.
A paused app keeps its page, its code and every version. Move back to a paid plan, and it comes back at the same link on its own.
How do I put an app on my phone's home screen?
Open the app's link on your phone.
On an iPhone, tap Share in Safari, then “Add to Home Screen”. On Android, open the Chrome menu, then “Add to home screen” or “Install app”.
On a Mac, in Safari choose File, then “Add to Dock”; in Chrome, click the install icon in the address bar. On Windows, in Chrome or Edge click the install icon in the address bar, or use “Save as app” inside the app.
It gets its own icon. If our check saw it work offline, its page says so, and it opens without a connection too.
Why isn't my app in the gallery?
The gallery shows only the live apps their makers chose to list. Turn on “Show it in the gallery” on your app's page to list it.
Our automatic check looks at an app before it is listed. If it flags it, the app stays live for anyone with its link, and its page tells you why.
A paused app leaves the gallery until it comes back. If something looks wrong, email us and a person will look.
How do I delete an app?
Choose “Delete this app” on its page. Its link stops working for everyone at once.
We keep a copy for 30 days. Write to us in that time and we can bring it back. Its code is still yours to download.
To delete your whole account, email help@wishwhip.app from its address. That takes all your apps offline.
How do I reach a person?
Email help@wishwhip.app. A person reads every message and answers, usually within a day.
To report an app, use the Report link at the bottom of it, or the report page.
